Thanks to the Groton Planning Board
Record Enterprise
Letter To The Editor
To the editor:
We, the taxpayers-homeowners of Colony Forest Hills, Groton, would like to
express our thanks to the Groton Planning Board and Selectmen for the work they
have done in developing the Interim Growth Ordinance.
We were shocked at hearing that an organization such as North American Training
Center could come into our town-- without the need for public hearings and
scrutiny! We urge all Groton residents to go to the polls on May 23 and vote
"YES" for the Interim Growth Ordinance. This ordinance will require any NEW
commercial or industrial enterprise, that wants to locate in Groton, to apply
for an exception. This will then allow for public hearings and scrutiny.
We are for growth, but we want it to be in a way that protects the rural
atmosphere and environment that means so much to us.
Again, we want to thank the officials of Groton, as well as the CCFRI (Concerned
Citizens for Regional Impact). Please keep us informed as to your progress in
this important matter and of how we may help.
Sincerely,
Don Dellascio
President, Colony Forest Hills, Groton
